1) I will not be defined by my food issues.  If I want to participate in something, I will either take my own food or make arrangements with the host to provide something I can eat.

2) I will not use food issues as an excuse not to do things I want to do.  If I don't want to participate, I can just say no, thank you, I'll have to pass this time.
